The Message

Who is Jesus?

Jesus is a man who came to earth 2000 years ago. He walked this earth for 33 years, healing the sick and showing love to the unloved. Despite the great things that He did, the religious people of the day hated Him. Finally, they got their way and Jesus was crucified - put to death by being nailed to a wooden cross.

Despite being a man, He was very different from each one of us. He was absolutely perfect. It was because we are far from perfect that He came to earth. Our imperfection (sin) is what offended God, so God sent Jesus.

God wanted to warn humanity of the destruction their sin was leading them to, and God sent the Man Jesus Christ to speak out this warning, but also speak of His love. Jesus claimed that no one comes to the Father [God] except through Him (John 14:6). This means that there is no way to God, except through Jesus and His death on the cross. Our good works, our belief in God or going to church will not get us favour with God. It is whether we believe on the Lord Jesus, God's only begotten Son, that counts.
