What should I believe?

God has made it very clear from the Bible what we must believe, if ever we want to be sure of a place in heaven. The following passages state very clearly what is required of us to believe to be saved from the dreadful consequences of our sin and be sure of a place in heaven:

• If...you believe in your heart that God raised Him [Jesus] from the dead you will be saved Romans 10:9
• Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved Acts 16:31

The first passage tells us that we need to believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. Jesus' resurrection occurred three days after He died on a cross. By dying Jesus bore the punishment for sin, which is why God has said we should not just believe about the Lord Jesus (for many believe He existed, but will not necessarily be saved) but believe on the Lord Jesus. Believe that He alone is the solution to your sin, the only way you can be saved from the punishment due for your sin.
